Algebra Ventures has bolstered its investment team with the appointment of Khaled El Warraky as investment analyst, in a newly created role.
He joins Algebra from Arqaam Capital, a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based investment company, where he was equity research analyst for in the two years to 2022.
Warraky’s appointment comes after Algebra named Laila Hassan as general partner on its sophomore vehicle, Algebra Ventures Fund II, bringing her in from 500 Startups, in 2021.
Algebra also appointed Omar Khashaba as general partner on its Algebra Ventures Fund II in 2021.
The investor’s recent deals include backing a pre-seed investment round into Mozare3, an Egypt-based agriculture technology company, delivered in 2021.
Algebra also acquired a stake in Dsquares, an Egypt-based business services technology company, from Ezdehar Management – sealed in 2019.
Algebra Ventures also led an approximate $0.6 million investment in Trella, a technology-based logistics company based in Egypt, sealing its 11th deal from its maiden fund earlier in 2019.
Karim Hussein is the managing partner at Algebra Ventures.
